Offered: Fall and Spring, some Summer sessions
Indiana Geology has been taught as a distance learning course for close to 10 years. The course is now taught online-only, with a combination of online material
and streaming video accessed from Oncourse. No visits to campus are required, but some classes include optional field trips for extra credit. Unlike our other courses, this class uses Indiana as the basis for describing basic concepts of geology. The course is organized around geologic concepts and features, like "mineral resources", "wetlands", and "fossils." The
streaming video includes a combination of presentations by experts, lectures by faculty, and many video field trips to different areas of the state.
For more information about the class,
visit the G135 online course page. The laboratory associated with the class is also available online, G136, Indiana Geology Field Experience.
