On September the 28, 2002 the Professional Geologists of Indiana (PGI) and the Geology and Geography Departments of DePauw University hosted a field trip in Central Indiana.   Over 40 Professional geologists, students, and faculty attended this, the third annual, all-university field trip.

This years one day trip centered around The Putnam County area with the first stop at the Lone Star Cement plant and quarry.  Other stops highlighted karst terrane, an exelcent road cut near Big Walnut Creek at Reelsville an Illinoian glacial slicieway, and the world class section of Pennsylvanian and Pleistocene sediments seen at the emergency spillway for Cagles Mill Dam.
