PGI Constitution revision, February 2003, Final Draft, MS Word format About PGI by Eric FryPast President, Professional Geologists of Indiana, Inc.Professional Geologists of Indiana (PGI) is an organization formed in 1993 to promote geology as a profession in Indiana. This is done through:
Some type of watchdog effort is critical to the currently practicing geologist and to future generations of geologists. Our mission is not to exclude other professions from work they are qualified to perform, but to include geologists where appropriate or, at the very least, prevent exclusions by other organizations. We need your membership support. As a member of PGI you will receive the quarterly newsletter which keeps you informed on current events that may affect geologists in Indiana. This includes topics such as: petroleum, coal, environmental geology, groundwater, important legislation, meetings, seminars, and more. The newsletter alone is worth your membership fee. Periodic meetings and field trips are added benefits. Engineers, soil scientists, surveyors, and even hairdressers have organizations to represent and look out for their interests. PGI is not-for-profit. Officers and board members serve without monetary compensation or even travel expenses. PGI is your organization and it needs your support both through your dues to finance our efforts and to increase our membership count, thereby increasing our influence in the regulatory and legislative arenas.
