PGI Membership

This page contains  information about Professional Geologists of Indiana membership requirements and advantages.  

Benefits of Membership

  1. Information and input on legislative activities that affect professional Geologists.
  2. A one-year subscription to The PGI Geology Standard.
  3. PGI Geological Directory, a listing of professional geologists and geoscience businesses in the state of Indiana.
  4. A membership certificate suitable for framing.
  5. Attend and Participate in Periodic field trips and seminars
  6. Professional contacts.

Membership Requirements

Full (voting) membership in PGI is open any individual who is employed as a geologist or geoscientist; or has a degree in geology or the geosciences; or has retired from a career as a geologist or geoscientist; or is an Indiana Licenced Professional Geologist. Non-licenced geologists must petition the board of directors for membership and must obtain two sponsors who are members of PGI.

Associate membership is open to anyone with an interest in the profession of geology, or in the geological sciences, but who does not satisfy the requirements for full membership.

Student membership is open to any student currently enrolled in a geoscience program.

Corporate membership is open to any corporation or company wishing to support the geosciences.

Dues

Full & Associate membership..$30 per year
Student membership.. $10 per year
Corporate membership.. $100 per year
