←Of Course, This would be a photo of you

My research interests include Quaternary and glacial geology, soils and paleosols, mapping (both traditional and GIS), Indiana geology, and geomorphology. I also provide field support and maintenance of web resources. I have been teaching G206: Physical Geology Lab for Majors since the fall of 1989 and periodically teach other classes.

Discovering the Science of the Environment

Research Projects
My research interests include the Quaternary stratigraphy of the Midwest, with special emphasis on the use of paleosols as a stratigraphic tool and environmental indicator. Other research interests include the use of soils as wetland indicators, and in questions related to the development and persistence of hydric soils associated with both wetland restoration and wetland drainage. Some projects I am currently working on include:
  • Understanding the stratigraphic and hydrologic relationship of Midwestern wetlands
  • Determining the role of soils and moisture regime on riparian reforestation
  • Characterization of sediments in alluvial floodplain and determination of groundwater source of fen at Scott Starling Nature Sanctuary
